Sunday, February 28th, 2010

One of the easiest ways to increase the revenue of a company is through the creation of a business strategy using publicity, business promotion, branding and marketing techniques. Publicity campaigns create lots of buzz and come in a variety of different forms, but a publicity campaign’s primary goal is to always increase the awareness that the public has of your brand. As you increase the awareness that the public has of your brand, you are increasing the size of your customer base. As you increase the size of your customer base, you are certainly in a better position than you were before you attempted to gain the public’s attention. You will enjoy increasing customer awareness. At this point, not only is your customer base going to get even larger through the spread of word of mouth advertising, but your company will also be able to make more sales to more clients thanks to the larger customer base.

When a company desires to increase their popularity, there are many different techniques that can be used. One of the most popular ways to increase a company’s publicity is through a press release. This form of marketing is very popular, because when you issue a press release, you increase the chances that a media company will pick up on the story you have created. So, use press releases on a regular basis to create a history of media exposure that you can build on.

The primary reason why the press release form of publicity gets more attention than you can possibly estimate before you create one is mostly due to the fact that media companies that receive your press release are likely going to want to talk about the major current events occurring within your company.

Another great way to increase your company’s publicity is through the use of other written forms of communication. If you are running a small business, or you have employees who have a great deal of technical experience and knowledge in specific subject areas, you can be sure that media publications will be interested in what your company has to say.

When you write for your local media outlets, your name and your company will gain a sense of recognition by helping people better understand the industry that you operate in. Your name and your company’s name will often be referenced either within the article, or at the bottom or top of your article where the writer is acknowledged.

There are many different techniques that you can use to increase the awareness of your company. If you want to make your company incredibly well known, you should be searching for the techniques that will spread the word about your business and products for the lowest possible price. Marketing And Publicity Tips For Self Promotion

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Writers want their work to be read by many; it will mean that they can keep on writing for a living and not as a side-line. Starting out is always hard for any first-time writer. You do not know what to do or how best to market your work. You will probably not be able to afford a high-quality, big city P. R. Firm to do your marketing for you. You may not even have an agent. So how do you get your work known?

Some authors have realized there is a great need for information about writing books. They have therefore, cleverly, written books about how to advertise the book you have written. The tips in the books may or may not be useful, but what IS useful is how you have learned about their book in the first place. Make your own web page and fan site. No one needs to know that you do not have dedicated fans doing this for you. Write a blog. Make a funny video and put it on YouTube. Advertise on your social networking sites. Make your technology (especially free technology!) work for you.

Authors living in rural areas may actually sell more copies. It is nothing for someone from New York city to write a book and be published. Hundreds do it every week. But when you are from a small village in New England, people in your area will pay attention. You will get interviewed on local channels and by local papers. Use all of these opportunities, especially because it costs you nothing. Being a mysterious, reclusive writer should be saved for once you have actually become well-known. Then you can pick and choose your public appearances.

That said, keep a little mystery around you and be very aware of your own appearance. You are selling both your book and yourself. If you are dumpy or trashy looking, do not speak articulately, tell dumb jokes, or reveal everything about your book during an interview, who is going to want to buy your novel?

Dress well, too. If you do not dress professionally for public appearances, what makes anyone think that you can write professionally? Play up your contacts, you affiliation with local schools or business or sports teams. Make people proud that you came from their area. Keep in mind that people know your parents or remember you from high school. They want to see what you have done with your life.

Promote yourself as much as you can without becoming irritating. Do television commercials and put up posters. Making deals with local businesses can be a great business move. You just want your book to get out there, even if you are not making much money on it yet. It takes a while for books to pass from hand to hand and for viral advertising to happen.
